I’m a qualified Beauty Therapist with over 13 years of experience, having worked in respected beauty salons across London, Brisbane, and Invercargill. Over the years, I’ve refined my skills and found my true passion: brows and waxing.
At Truly Yours, I specialise in brow shaping, tinting, waxing, and ombré powdered brows. Having completed in-depth training in cosmetic tattooing through the Anna Hayes Academy, you can be assured you’re in safe hands. I am also trained in the TrueBrow™ system, a natural brow restoration method that enhances natural brows without the need for tattooing.

Pre-care

How to prepare for your appointment

To prepare your brow area waxing needs to be done 2 weeks prior.

Avoid beauty treatments in the brow area (tinting, facials, peels, Botox, tanning).
Botox should be done at least 2 weeks before or after your tattoo session.
Avoid blood-thinning supplements and foods: turmeric, fish oil, cinnamon, spicy foods, etc.
Avoid caffeine (coffee, tea, energy drinks, pre-workout), alcohol, aspirin, ibuprofen, or other anti-inflammatories
Gently exfoliate your brows and keep them well-hydrated by drinking plenty of water.
Avoid heavy sweating, swimming, facials, saunas, and sun exposure for 7+ days.

Don’t wear white clothing as pigment may splatter.
Please come alone. No children or guests in the treatment room.
Feel free to bring headphones to listen to something during your treatment.
Avoid applying makeup and all products other than the supplied balm over the brow area for 7 days.

Post-care

After your procedure

Your brows will appear darker and more defined than expected. Swelling, redness, and slight blanching are normal and usually subside within 48 hours.
Using a cotton bud, apply the recommended aftercare balm hourly on Day 1
On Day 2, apply the balm 2–3 times (e.g. morning, afternoon, and night)
Your brows may start to flake or peel like a sunburn - this is normal.
DO NOT pick, scratch, or rub the area.
Continue applying the balm 2–3 times a day.
Flaking is less common for hairstroke-only styles
Brows may look faded or patchy before the pigment settles. This is normal, trust the process!
Avoid makeup on the area for at least 48 hours, ideally one full week.
Your follow-up session is where we refine your shape, colour, and correct any patchy areas. This must be completed within 6-8 weeks of your first session.
